As you can see from the photos this is an ancient stalk. There was something about its weathered appearance when I found it with all these cracks and bug holes that really got me excited to see what it would turn into. The wood is so old that it has taken on an almost driftwood look. Those familiar with spalted wood there are some areas on the stalk that has some which a fungus leaves thin black lines around white wood. I have never seen that before on an agave and adds such unique character and beauty. This is a didge on the smaller side and perfect for the traveler and hiker with its portable size. For the beginner didge player I would highly recommend this one as it has all the capabilities to help you advance quickly without a big price tag. This one plays so well in an ambient more meditative style and would also be great with its size and weight for sound healing. Nice bassy drone despite its size and easy overtones and vocals and harmonics. A sweet little didge for any skill level!
