I have found an area where the agaves are just a little different. They have the perfect climate to grow these really big and very thick walled flowers. I love the way these dense, heavier agaves play and this one weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs! Most agaves you will see in this size are more in the 3-4 lb range. This ancient stalk has such  a cool look with its older wood that has texture and shows how the agave wood transforms over many summers and winters with extreme heat and even snow in this area. This has a nice big bore with a gradual taper. Love how the big bore creates such a bass filled and rich drone and has wonderful vocal and overtone capabilities and harmonics. These thicker agaves take a bit mote time to warm up(still very fast) and just come alive once they are. Perfect for any style of play and especially excels in more slow and ambient styles and would be a great for meditative play and soundscapes. These ancient, thick agaves have so much power snd so fun to connect with a flower stalk that was able to survive many years after blooming m. Can feel the wisdom and stories when playing it!
