When I came upon this stalk my jaw dropped. One of the larger flower stalks that I have found in the wild and estimated it to be about 25 feet. I am more and more amazed by these beautiful plants every time I go searching for them. The wood has so much resonance and I knew right away that I wanted to make a big bore deep didgeridoo. Well, I accomplished my goal and this thing is just awesome. It plays so easily and puts you in an instant meditative state. A# is such a cool deep note and always has felt great to hear and play. With the huge bore there is so much bass and has such a rich drone. Incredible vocals and tongued rhythms with amazing response. If you have never owned an A# now is the time. Can’t even imagine what this would sound like through an amp! Beautiful thick piece of Zebrawood to top off this one of a kind didge!

This didge is buzzing with excitement! Loves to play explosive rhythms and really ambient styles too. I love the key of F and have contemplated keeping this one so you might want to act fast. Hardly any breath required to play and the response is phenomenal. Extremely easy and crystal clear overtones and great vocals with tremendous volume. You will surely add some energy and new sounds to your playing with this beauty!

The first thing you will notice on this on is the sexy curves that is has. A really nice long neck that explodes to a great bell. I used a clear Shellac for the French Polish on this one and it really enhances the bell that looks like an abstract painter had a part in creating it. Extremely responsive and barely any breath required with the thin walls and strong backpressure. This would be a great one for the beginner didge player as it will really speed up your learning process but also great for any level player. Really easy overtones and great loud vocals this has great balance and you can’t lose with the solid key of D.

I had a friend in town recently from New York who loves to hike. The hills where I get my Agaves can be extremely steep and rugged and I have seen some off in far distance that I had always wanted to check out. We ended up hiking to the very top of one of these hills I have waned to explore and found some amazing agaves. This is the one however that stood out above the rest. I love thick, old agaves and this one is one of the densest stalks I have found. I love the way it plays and has so much depth and character to its drone. I couldn’t be happier with how it came out and you really can play explosive, fiery rhythms. Clear easy overtones and tremendous vocals. This is just the tip of the iceberg on what this one can do. If you are a guitar player you are probably aware of the woods in the mouthpiece. I ordered this Swamp Ash specifically for this didge. A prized wood for its extreme resonance and has some beautiful grain that is accented nicely by the Mahogany. I used two different Shellacs for the french polish as I wanted to enhance the darks and lights. I used a clear on the ash and a dark shellac to bring out the the agave stalk. As you can see I love this didge and think you will too!

My drive back from this harvest was a bit dangerous as I couldn’t stop looking in the back of my wagon in awe of this stalk. I even had to pull over a few times to admire it and measure it again and again with a big smile on my face. The unique quality about a didge like this is that to find a 9.5″ bell it usually would be too large to make a didge as the big ones taper slower. This one on the other hand just explodes near the bell. This explosiveness also translates to how it plays. Tons of capabilities and the first time I got to play it I was feeling like I had started playing didge again for the first time with such excitement. Being such a special stalk I decided to use some of my favorite woods that really accent each other and add to the beauty of this didge. This one plays with ease being ideal for the beginner to the most advanced.

I found this one on a snowy day in the mountains of southern Arizona which shows the extremes these plants see year to year. This ancient agave has a great weathered yet polished look and has extremely dense and thick wood. Tons of backpressure and less is more on this didge. The vocals are so clear and loud and the overtones are achieved with ease. Playing this one right off I felt it was best for meditation and intricate slower rhythms but can do really fast rhythms with ease. The woods on this mouthpiece are stunning and has to be one of my favorites to date. This is the second didge with an all natural french polish finish on the outside while I still have an epoxy resin finish on the inside. A real beauty!

This is a real lively didge with lots of character. Nice backpressure and vocals and loves to play fast wobble like rhythms. The mouthpiece has some amazing wood combos and the french polish really pops the wood. Being a very old stalk I have inlaid a lot of turquoise throughout to appeal to the player both sonically and visually.

I have to admit that there were a few expletives that came out of my mouth the first time I played this one. What an incredible drone and responsiveness. This one has a tremendous shape and with the long neck and huge bell you will be sure to be heard and more. I found this in an area that I have found some of my favorite stalks including #29. Really nice dense wood that just resonates like crazy. It is funny after all these years of making didges when one really stands out as one of your favorites. Another one with the new all natural French Polish. This may not stay on here long as I may just have to keep it if I have more time to play it.

I love the way this big didge plays. The first thing I notice about playing it is how easy it is to create layers in the drone as it is so responsive to any movement and can create an almost singing bowl type affect. The overtones are so easy and clear and the vocals really pop. Really nice dense older wood with a nice flare at the end. This one could be a runway model didge if there was such a thing and three beautiful woods top it off. One heck of a didge!
